When you first see La Gaudane the building may
take your breath away; tall and imposing yet always welcoming in its
rich drapes of Wisteria, Trompette and Virginia creeper. It sits on
Cordes lowest slope so there are six storeys on the lower side but only
three and a half on the higher side!
There are three vast rental loft apartments above an Aladdin’s
Cave of an antique shop. There is also the unique 1880’s embroidery
atelier tucked into the ground floor with exquisite old and new work. On
the west side there is the newly furnished rental Lodge, and the fenced
pool (13’x26’), petanque court, large sunny terraces and the orchard. To
the rear is the French courtyard garden; dappled shade, statues and a
quiet spot to read or write. There are
French speaking English guardians. A complimentary welcome pack of food
and wine awaits you. All linen and towels are provided and there is an
array of complimentary sports equipment for your use.
