La Gaudane was built in 1881 to house 26 embroidery looms. This accounts both for the glorious traditional solidity of its golden stone walls and the extra large windows which now suffuse the vast airy apartments with light. hree self-catering Loft Apartments and The Lodge. Now newly extended. they combine the best of old and new. A majestic antique building on the lower slopes of "Cordes-in-the-Sky", a famous 1222 fortified pinnacle but, even so, only 400 yards from grocers, patisserie, bakers, bank, post office and weekly market, etc. The loft apartments can be accessed from the blue gate and the back courtyard and are only one floor up on the loft stairs. The lodge is situated on the ground floor with direct access to the garden terraces and fenced pool. All the apartments are equipped with all the latest appliances, from big family fridges right down to the hairdryer and are furnished in a fascinating mix of antique and very new, including of course, essentially top of the range luxury beds.
